Like all æSeries, this venue also delved into the encounter of the city and its construction, but this time with a simple query:
What unfolds above construction sites?

Opened to the public in January 2020 after a thorough search for location and materials, the kitchen of æHouse epitomized the æSeries’ interest in crafting with the wreckage of spectacle. The outcome was an intimate and exposed venue for daily cuisine, where stories formed while sharing dishes with a few guests or chance visitors at a time. The program of domestic activities centered around the counter continued the celebration of everyday life, proper of the æSeries. However,
in juxtaposition to other Venues, it also spurred contemplation of the role of Theatre and its terra incognita.
æKjøkken served 3 daily meals and hosted special workshops, and gatherings, including ‘Hoy Ñoquis’ sessions on the 29th of each month. Additionally, each Friday brought a ‘Kokkerering med…’ event, following instructions from abroad to prepare a simple dish. The video conference projected on the wooden wall opposite the predominantly glass facade intrigued passers-by at Sofienbergparken. This initiative, pre-planned before the pandemic, became a daily ritual as the kitchen doors closed abruptly. æHouse remained as a residence,
but due to stronger measurements, entry was barred even for its inhabitants. On May 29th, 2020, doors were finally closed while hosting a socially distanced ‘Hoy Ñoquis’ situation at the park by the pimped fence.▪æ
