Overview
Description
Marking 200 years since the current Norwegian flag was selected by Stortinget and remembering the atrocious attacks perpetrated 10 years ago in Norway, antipodes café in collaboration with Bymuseet i Bergen arranged a symposium to discuss the current state of the national symbol and possible futures.
The event started with a brief introduction of the series “Utforsking av Norges flag” by one of antipodes cafés members,
followed by a lecture on the history of the current flag of Norway, and a series of short presentations of different approaches to the national flag, and a discussion panel around the implied topics.
Due to an abrupt closure of Bryggens Museum for the removal of asbestos, the event was moved to the next door hotel.
